Affiliate Disclosure
Pure Living Lab earns money when readers buy products through some of our links. This page explains how that works, what it means for you, and how to read our recommendations with that in mind.

What this page covers
Pure Living Lab publishes product reviews, buying guides, and comparisons, mostly for home and kitchen products. Some of the links in that content are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. We want you to know that before you decide to buy, and this page gives the details.
Amazon Associates disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Pure Living Lab takes part in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate program run by Amazon. When you click a link from our site to Amazon.com and make a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a commission.
Amazon doesn’t own, operate, sponsor, or endorse Pure Living Lab. We’re an independent website that participates in the program.
How affiliate links work
An affiliate link carries a tracking tag that tells Amazon your visit started on our site. If you then make a qualifying purchase, Amazon credits us with a commission, which is a percentage of the sale.
In Amazon’s program, the purchase doesn’t have to be the exact product we linked. Other eligible items you buy after following our link can count too, and Amazon decides which purchases qualify. Orders that are canceled, returned, or refunded don’t earn us anything.
Affiliate links in our recommendations
Our product reviews, comparisons, buying guides, and recommendation lists may contain affiliate links. Not every link on the site is one. Links to our own pages, and links to sources we aren’t paid for, are ordinary links.
We tell you when a link earns us money. We put a short notice near affiliate links on each page that has them, because a note on a separate page is easy to miss. The notice might read, “We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page.” This page gives the full explanation and doesn’t replace those notices.
How we write our recommendations
Our aim is to help you choose a product that fits your needs and budget. In each article we try to say how we assessed a product. If we used it ourselves, we say so. If a recommendation rests on manufacturer specifications, product listings, and published feedback from other buyers, we say that instead. We don’t claim hands-on testing we didn’t do.
You should also know that we earn a commission only when a purchase happens. That gives us a financial interest in readers buying through our links. Compare your options, read the product page on Amazon, and treat our articles as one source among several.
Does this cost you more?
No. Amazon pays our commission, and it isn’t added to what you pay. Amazon sets the price, and the price at checkout is the one that applies. We can’t promise it’s the lowest price available anywhere, so comparing is always reasonable.
Prices, availability, and product details
Prices, stock levels, specifications, discounts, and delivery options on Amazon change often, sometimes within hours. An article may be out of date by the time you read it. The information on the Amazon product page when you order is the final and current version, so check it before you buy. Deals and promotions can end without notice.
Product details in our articles come from manufacturers and product listings, and they can contain errors. If you spot something wrong or outdated, please tell us using the contact details below.
Third-party websites
Most of our affiliate links lead to Amazon.com. Once you click, you’re on Amazon’s site, and Amazon’s terms, policies, and privacy practices apply. The same goes for any other external site we link to.
Pure Living Lab doesn’t operate those sites and isn’t responsible for them. Orders, payments, shipping, returns, and customer service are handled by Amazon, so contact Amazon about those. Amazon may record that your visit came from our site.
Other affiliate relationships
This page currently covers our participation in the Amazon Associates Program. We may join other affiliate programs or work with other retailers and brands in the future. If we do, we’ll update this page, and links tied to those relationships will get the same kind of notice near the link. We won’t present a paid link as an unpaid recommendation.
Where these rules come from
Amazon’s requirement
Amazon’s Associates Program Operating Agreement requires participants to state the sentence in the Amazon Associates section clearly and prominently on their site. It also prohibits implying that Amazon supports or endorses a participant. Amazon’s help pages add that affiliate links need their own clear disclosure. These are conditions of the program, set by Amazon.
FTC guidance
Separately, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides say that a connection like earning a commission should be disclosed clearly and close to the recommendation. FTC staff guidance says a single notice on a home page, or a link to a separate disclosure page, isn’t enough on its own. You can read it on the FTC’s page, FTC’s Endorsement Guides: What People Are Asking
This page describes how our site works. It isn’t legal advice.
